Giorgio Armani’s collection for Milan Fashion week was all about the bling trend. Thousands of Swarovski crystals embellished long, red carpet slinks and tiny, singlet-topped cocktail dresses having a web of straps at the back. Armani showcased everything from sparkling ballerina footwear to knitted caps dotted with dewdrop crystals.
A majority of the outfits consisted of knee length belled or sarong style skirt, worn with jacket and accessorised with fur shrugs and sheepskin stoles.
The VIP front row audience included pop sensation Tina Turner and film director Robert Wilson,
who are both great fans of Armani.
On Thursday, Armani is scheduled to jet to Los Angeles to host an exclusive, pre-Oscars presentation of his Prive Couture collection.
Armani, who has previously dressed A listers including Julia Roberts, Jodie Foster, Mira Sorvino and Zhang Ziyi for the Oscars, is expected to dress Cate Blanchett for this year’s Academy Awards.
