Metallic fabrics, sparkly accessories and footwear will be all the rage in 2007, according to fashion experts.
It is expected that metallics will remain popular throughout the new year.
‘We’ve seen the metallic look creeping in towards the end of 2006 and that will remain one of the major themes of 2007,’ commented Paula Reed, style director at Grazia magazine.
Marie Claire’s fashion editor Liz Walker agreed, describing the big look of 2007 as ’silver and shine’.
Vogue’s fashion features editor, Harriet Quick, said the year’s catwalk creations will have ‘a strong futuristic tilt’.
‘So 2007 will see the introduction of lots of new textures and fabrics, from the mesh sheaths seen at the Dolce & Gabbana shows, to the metallic C-3PO leggings created by Balenciaga,’ she added.
